A new Report has shown that Apple has a litany of abuses in its factory. Among the abuses there is Child labor. The report has shown that there are at least 11 fifteen year olds working in Apple’s factory probably somewhere in China. This isn’t the first incident: last week 62 workers were poisoned by the toxic chemical n-hexane. The factories are run by Taiwanese company Foxconn, which China Labor Watch has described as having “inhumane and militant management”. One instance caused an employee to leap to his death after accusations that he stole an iPhone prototype. Apple has requested “reviews” of the factories, but so far nothing has been done
Personally I am disgusted by this, considering the high price of the iPad I expect Apple to do better. I just hope Apple doesn’t become Microsoft.
