Just got a new Apple iPad and want to fill it up with videos? Unsure on how to do so? What to convert AVI to iPad? FLV to iPad? or pretty much any other file format to iPad? Well this guide will allow you to do just that. Most people suggest using handbrake; while this IS a good choice, I prefer a different program Super Video Converter . This is a program for Windows ONLY. See Part 2 of this Guide on how to use handbrake (for MAC)
Step 1: Download Super Video Converter
The page is a bit hard to navigate, so here is a link; scroll down and press ” Download SUPER © setup file”
Step 2: Install
Install Super Video Converter and run it.
Step 3: Configuration
You should see a screen that looks like this:

1: File format. This allows you to select which file format will be used. Keep it at mp4 or iPod/iPhone
2: File compression. Make sure it is H.264/AVC
3: Output Audio codec. You only have one option: AAC LC
4: This is where you drop your file. Double click on the file you dropped and you will get a window telling you information about the movie. We will be using that to fill out 5-8. Here is a SAMPLE
5: Video size. iPad is 640×480. Click more until you find it
6: Aspect Ratio. 16:9 or if your Original video is 4:3 use that (check step 4 on how to find original video size)
7: Frame Rate. Check your original video specs (see #4) and make sure they match, or else you’ll get audio syncing problems. It can not be over 30
8: Bitrate (quality). It has to be below 2560 kbps; The higher the bitrate, the better the quality, the bigger the filesize
9. Audio. Set the Sampling Freq to 48000 and the Bitrate (quality) to 160 or Below. You can not go above 160.
Step 4: Encode
Click Encode, wait a few minutes (1 encoding minute for 2 movie minutes) and your done
you might notice that you have the annoying:”created with SUPER(C).v2010.bld.37″. To remove that go to iTunes, select movies, find your video, right click, get info, click the info tab and delete the artist line
