iPad vs the HPSlate

by William

Since the announce of the iPad, many Apple fans have been surprised – few disappointed. But then to everyone’s surprise another competitor enters the ring: the HP Slate. I am not going to preach about how better, technically speaking, the HP Slate is then the iPad. You can do so yourself, just look at the pic posted. You will conclude that there is not enough information to judge. Simply put, the iPad and the HP Slate are in two different categories of devices. One device attempts to bring the standard computing experience unto the Tablet world, while other falls into the luxury entertainment device category– all it does is provide a better way to be entertained with some small advantages thrown in place. Some misconceptions about both. Do not judge a CPU, by its processor speed. You have to look at the architecture. The HPslate might have a better CPU – but the Apple CPU might handle content better. Multitasking? The iPad has all the native Apple Apps multitasking enabled. IF there is a way to jailbreak the iPad — then multitasking will also be available for 3rd Party Apps. Just remember, with multitasking comes decreases battery life. Locked or Unlocked OS? Locked can create a fast, safe and fluid environment — exactly what consumers want.

Which Tablet is better? That depends on your needs: do you want a laptop (or netbook to be precise), but that is on the Tablet, full of its laggy response, viruses, but unrestricted OS or an entertainment device — one that you can use to view movies, read ebook, listen to music and catch up on the web. Personally I am going for the iPad
