Everyone was excited with the release of the iPad– its beautiful 9.7 inch screen and its high battery expectations. What users weren’t prepared for was the absence of flash. Since flash is the majority of the web, is Apple’s decision a smart one? Steve Jobs wants the iPad to go into the HTML5 direction — native play through web browsers. Currently only the Opera browser and Apple’s Safari support HTML5, while online video dispensers (Yotuube, vimeo) are only testing it
I am not that worried about a lack of flash support. If I want to watch movies, I will through either buying them from iTunes or ripping from DVD — no need for flash. Flash games (and adds) are also quite annoying. And without flash the battery life will remain good
