Yesterday’s Article examined the HPSlate and the iPad. Today’s article will examine Notion Ink’s Adam and Apple’s iPad. First off I must add some corrections to the above picture: 1) Storage: the iPad obviously has Storage (16GB-64GB) 2)Other: The iPad also has AGPS, compass, and accelerometer 3) the iPad can not do 720p out, the max is 576. Now with those aside, I can finally do the analysis between those two Tablets. First off, I would like to say I am disappointed with the prototype- frameskips (laggy screen), bulky size, desktop is not aesthetically pleasing, always connected to the Power Source, etc. If the real model resembles the prototype, then I advice you DO NOT buy it. Here is a video of the prototype [LINK]. The specs are exciting particularly the Pixel Qi screen (basically e-ink, but with color). Since e-ink is used the power consumption is decreased roughly by a half and this will result in a longer battery life. My biggest issue with e-ink is that it is “laggy” – takes a second or so to register an action. Thats why I prefer the a multi-touch LCD screen. My other issue is the Android OS – I do not think it stands a chance to iPhoneOS
From what I can see the Adam is better then the HPSlate. I can say that, because the two of them are roughly in the same category. The iPad is in its own category. The iPad vs the Adam? Depends on what you like. If you are the average consumer looking for a fluid experience get the iPad, if you like to Tinker with your gadgets get the Notion Ink’s Adam
